Basic Printer Information

The current printer queues and printer locations are:

• lp160 (HP 4200)

  This printer is a black/white printer located in room 160.

• konica (Konica 7255)

  This printer is combination copier and printer located in room 239.

• clp239 (HP 4700)

  This printer is a color laser printer, and is located in room 241.

• xerox (Konica 7255)

  This is the Konica bizhub 7255 in room 233. Use of the xerox printer is restricted to full time faculty and staff, and instructional use.

Due to the number of machines on our network, we have configured the queues for these printers on the major servers. If you need access to a queue that is not on the machine that you are using, please notify system and it will be added.

You may need to change your default printer. To do this, change the value of the environment variable LPDEST on the hp workstations or PRINTER on all other systems (Linux, Sunos). You most likely set this variable in your shell initialization file (such as .cshrc, .login, or .profile). If you need assistance in making this change, please contact system.

You may also need to change the default printer in other software such as mutt. This is done on a per applicaton basis and will vary from application to application. Again, contact system in you require assistance with this task.

A new printer driver needs to be installed for on windows machines to access some of these printers. Please contact systems for assistance.
